Successful Vietnam premiere Agritechnica Asia

In cooperation with HortEx Vietnam – 303 exhibitors from 30 countries, seven national pavilions – more than 10,000 visitors – DLG confirms long-term presence in Vietnam

(DLG). Agritechnica Asia, the leading trade fair for crop production in Asia, made a strong debut in Vietnam, attracting more than 10,500 visitors from across the country, including fruit and vegetable farmers attending HortEx Vietnam 2025. Held at Ho Chi Minh City’s SECC across 10,000 square meters, Agritechnica Asia and HortEx Vietnam, the region’s leading exhibition for professional horticulture and floriculture, were co-located for the first time. The events welcomed 303 exhibitors from 30 countries, establishing their role as industry platforms in Southeast Asia.

Featuring seven country pavilions – Germany, Japan, China, South Korea, Taiwan, the Netherlands and the Philippines –  the event informed agricultural professionals about applicable technologies: smart farming, precision agriculture, automation and digital farm management. Exhibitors showcased innovations like sustainable crop production techniques and equipment, highlighting the future of efficient and resource-optimized farming.

Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment as a co-host

Agritechnica Asia and HortEx Vietnam 2025 marked the first two international events co-hosted by the newly-reformed ministry, Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Environment. The ministry organized seminars on mechanized sustainable agriculture in collaboration with GIZ Vietnam. The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), showcased the One-Million Hectare Rice Program – an initiative aimed at promoting sustainable rice production in Vietnam's Mekong River Delta. Vietnam Agriculture and Nature Newspaper, the ministry’s official press agency, supported the event.

“I highly appreciate the initiative of the German Agricultural Society in Vietnam to organize Agritechnica every two years. This activity will promote innovation, creativity, and exchange between manufacturers, distributors, farmers, and organizations applying mechanization in agricultural production and business; this is also one of the most important solutions that the agriculture sector has identified to implement in the coming years to move towards a green, modern, and sustainable agriculture,” said Deputy Minister Tran Thanh Nam of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

At the event, DLG (German Agricultural Society), Agritechnica Asia’s organizer signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Agriculture and Nature Newspaper (VAN) to cooperate on further activities in the agricultural sector.

Key platform for smart and sustainable agriculture

With its guiding theme 'Green Innovations', the trade fair underscored sustainable farming practices, smart agriculture, and advanced technologies that address climate change, food security, and resource management. Featuring machinery from global agricultural leaders such as AGCO, CLAAS, FIMAKS, Lovol, XAG and Pöttinger, the trade fair offered advanced solutions tailored to the needs of Vietnam's agricultural sector, including rice, fruits, industrial crops and mechanization technologies.

Exhibitors from Germany, India, China, South Korea and Türkiye reported strong engagement with Vietnamese cooperatives and regional buyers. “This event met our expectations for business opportunities. Vietnam's demand for mechanization and sustainable practices aligns well with our offerings,” said Chuck Shi, General Manager Assistant Director of Southeast Asia Region II, Lovol.

With more than 20 international sessions, the conference programme featured 125 speakers led by international organizations such as the IRRI, GIZ Vietnam, bilateral projects from the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), UNESCAP Centre for Sustainable Agricultural Mechanization, and Nong Lam University. Topics included smart farming, mechanization and sustainable agriculture, providing attendees with valuable insights and practical solutions.

“Vietnam is not just a promising market but also a rising hub for agricultural innovation in Southeast Asia. The success of Agritechnica Asia reaffirms our commitment to supporting Vietnam’s agricultural growth through technology and knowledge exchange,” said Jens Kremer, Managing Director of DLG Markets.

Agritechnica Asia will return to Bangkok in 2026 for its sixth edition. The Bangkok edition will continue to serve as the agricultural hub for international trade and knowledge exchange. HortEx will once again be part of the exhibition, offering a comprehensive showcase of floriculture and horticulture technologies, further strengthening the event’s role as a leading meeting place for industry professionals.

Agritechnica Asia Vietnam and HortEx Vietnam will return to Ho Chi Minh City in March 2027.
