The EPP Group demands a new fishing agreement with the UK, or it will reject a post-Brexit trade accord. The EPP Group’s Francois-Xavier Bellamy, who wrote the report on the issue for the Fisheries Committee in the European Parliament, says a long-term fishing accord will preserve livelihoods in Europe and the UK. It would also avoid the risk of competitive overfishing that could destroy fish stocks.
