High-ranking representatives paid a visit to the Official German Pavilion at Auto Shanghai 2021. Among them Dr. Christine Althauser, German Consul General of Shanghai, Ms. Julia Fehske, Industry Counsellor from the German Embassy in Beijing, Ms. Corinne Abele, Chief Representative of the German Federal Agency for Foreign Trade and Investment in Shanghai (GTAI), as well as Mr. Lin Zhang, Vice President of VDA (German Association of the Automotive Industry) China and Ms. Amy Sun, Manager of VDA China.
The Official German Pavilion is located in Hall 1.2 5BH153 within the auto parts section of Auto Shanghai and organized by IMAG, a subsidiary of Messe München and co-organizer of Auto Shanghai. 16 companies show their latest products and innovations on almost 600 m² exhibition space. Among them are renowned auto parts suppliers such as Kirchhoff, Rheinmetall, Carcoustics, PWO, SingerTech, Bühler Motor, Isabellenhütte as well as companies such as Alfmeier, Computer Rock, FEV, in-Tech, Oledworks and SEG who all are participating for the first time.
In 2003, the first German Pavilion at Auto Shanghai was realized. Since then, the VDA has applied every two years to be included in the foreign trade fair program of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology for Auto Shanghai. The German Pavilion is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) in cooperation with the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA).
This form of trade fair participation enables small and medium-sized enterprises to enter new foreign markets and strengthens their competitive position.
For this year's Auto Shanghai, company representatives in China encouraged German companies to take advantage of China's favorable economic environment to either get settled in China for long-term development or to maintain long-lasting business relationships.
