Gold and silver for dominant French snowboarders in team event at Winter Youth Olympic Games Gangwon 2024

21 January 2024 - French snowboarders continued their brilliant start to the Winter Youth Olympic Games (YOG) Gangwon 2024 by dominating the Mixed Team Snowboard Cross.

The pair of Jonas Chollet and Lea Casta took gold for Team France 1 by showing the class that had already won them individual medals on day one of competition. Chollet had won the men’s individual Snowboard Cross with Casta taking bronze in the women’s event.

The duo of Team France 2 won silver in Sunday’s team event, the second silver of the Winter YOG for Maja-Li Iafrate Danielsson teaming up with Benjamin Niel.

William Martin and Abbey Wilson (Australia 1) finished the four-team Big Final in bronze medal position, edging out the Switzerland 1 pair of Noah Kocherhans and women’s individual champion Noemie Wiedmer.

Gangwon 2024 runs until 1 February, with more than 1,800 athletes from 78 NOCs taking part. The Winter Youth Olympic Games is filmed for live television and digital streaming on the Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the Olympics app, with full session replays and highlights also available.
