In a bold move that redefines the way footwear is imagined and made, adidas has introduced the CLIMACOOL24, a shoe that defies conventional design norms. Created through additive manufacturing and engineered entirely through cutting-edge 3D printing technology, the shoe is a testament to adidas’s relentless pursuit of innovation, representing a significant leap in material innovation, design and comfort.
“Made like nothing, feels like nothing, looks like nothing”
The unique lattice structure is designed to mold seamlessly around the foot, offering 360° airflow that makes it feel as though the shoe is almost non-existent. Accented with distinctive ghost stripes on the lateral, the shoe delivers new levels of comfort and a truly distinctive look.
CLIMACOOL24 breaks away from traditional gendered sizing by being sculpted around a unisex foot model created with insights from testing on men and women. This approach offers an adaptable fit whilst providing optimal support with features like integrated heel pillows and arch support.
CLIMACOOL24 isn’t a shoe that just fits; it adapts, breathes and disappears on the foot.
To bring to life the progressive design of CLIMACOOL24, adidas turned to visual artist Gabriel Moses, a long-term collaborator known for his emotive photography and videography.
“CLIMACOOL exists to push boundaries, and it’s something I align with as an artist,” Moses shared.
His interpretation of CLIMACOOL24 through light and shadow lets the shoe’s breathability and fluidity take center stage, transforming it from a product into a visual experience.
CLIMACOOL24 was released on September 28, 2024, exclusively through the CONFIRMED app, marking the beginning of an exciting design innovation journey ahead.
