adidas Originals and Bad Bunny Unveil New “Ballerina” Silhouette

Release Date: 24 Mar 2025   |   Herzogenaurach, Germany
adidas Bad Bunny Ballerina

As Bad Bunny continues to make waves in the music world with his record-breaking album, he’s kicking off the year with an exciting new collaboration with adidas Originals. Introducing the Bad Bunny Ballerina, a vibrant fusion of dance, rhythm, and cultural evolution that pays homage to the island of Puerto Rico and Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio’s roots.

Launching in a vibrant gold colorway, the Ballerina embodies the essence of Puerto Rican dance culture and music, two elements at the heart of Bad Bunny’s artistry. Rooted in the dance, energy, and the sound of an island that speaks through music, the sneaker mirrors Bad Bunny’s musical evolution, celebrating the universal language of rhythm and movement. Inspired by Puerto Rico and Benito’s evolution, these sneakers don’t just honor his roots—they flip the past into something new, a vision only he could bring to life.

With DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio goes back to where it all started, pushing salsa forward as a universal language—a bridge between generations, tradition, and what’s next. Like his music, these sneakers - his first footwear release since the album’s record-breaking debut - blend worlds. A fusion of ballet and adidas' iconic Taekwondo model, they take classic cues and render them fresh and fluid.

Drawing its design inspiration from the iconic adidas Taekwondo model, originally crafted for martial artists at the peak of their sport in the early 2000s, the Ballerina fuses sleek, modern aesthetics with a nod to its performance heritage. Design touches incorporate premium suede overlays on the toe and heel, enhancing its texture, while a streamlined shape and bungee-cord laces offer a secure, contemporary fit. The sneaker also features unique "Benito" branding near the signature Three Stripes and a special sizing tag on the exterior serving as a tribute to his past adidas collaborations.

The Bad Bunny Ballerina in its debut gold colorway will be available in select global retail partners on March 29, 2025, retailing for $120 USD.

About Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is a multi-platinum recording artist and 3x GRAMMY® winner whose ability to break international barriers and dismantle cultural norms has made him a global culture and entertainment icon. The genre-defying star, Spotify’s most-listened-to artist globally for three consecutive years (2020-22), holds the all-time touring record grossing $435M in a calendar year, with over 2.4 million tickets sold across 81 shows in 2022. His “Most Wanted Tour,” held in early 2024, was celebrated as one of the most innovative of recent times and broke the Barclays Center revenue record, surpassing the record of 12 concerts held by Jay Z. His artistic excellence has been recognized with historic feats, including the first GRAMMY® Awards nomination for Album of the Year, for a Spanish-language production, “Un Verano Sin Ti.” The globally acclaimed album is also Spotify’s most-streamed album globally, accumulating over 18 billion plays.

In 2025, Bad Bunny’s album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” spent three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking his seventh Top 10 album and his ninth consecutive No. 1 on the Top Latin Albums chart. He also made history as the first Latin artist to achieve 100 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, further solidifying his dominance in the global music scene. Following the success of his sixth studio album, Bad Bunny announced the historic "NO ME QUIERO IR DE AQUÍ" residency at the iconic Coliseo de Puerto Rico. Originally slated for 21 shows, the first-of-its-kind residency quickly expanded to 30 shows due to overwhelming demand, with all 400,000 tickets selling out in under 4 hours. Beyond music, Bad Bunny continued to break barriers by becoming the first-ever Spanish-language act to headline Coachella. His influence on mainstream culture grew even further when he pulled double duty as both host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live and participated in its coveted 50th Anniversary special— a significant achievement for Latinos and the normalization of Spanish on one of the longest-running shows in American pop culture.
